Aarumugam (2009)

In the heart of urban hustle and bustle, we meet Arumugam (Bharath), a simple and kind-hearted soul who earns his living selling idli on a roadside platform. His world revolves around his father (Ilavarasu), his sister (Saranya Mohan), and his loyal sidekick (Karnas). Amidst the sizzling idli pans and the cacophony of the streets, Arumugam nurtures a tender affection for his childhood love, Yamini (Priyamani). His life is further enriched by his close-knit friendship with Karthik (Satya), a rich kid who is the brother of a high-headed business magnate, Malini (Ramya Krishnan). Malini, with her polished shoes and polished arrogance, harbors a deep disdain for Karthik's bond with Arumugam, whom she considers beneath her social standing. The plot thickens as Malini, aided by her cunning Uncle (Mahadevan), contrives a plan to drive a wedge between the friends, pushing Arumugam into a life of destitution. His life takes a tragic turn when his mother's (Seetha) grave is ruthlessly bulldozed, and his sister faces humiliation. Fueled by this injustice, Arumugam vows to topple Malini from her tower of arrogance. As the narrative unfolds, we witness Arumugam's transformation from a humble idli seller to the wealthiest man in town, all thanks to his relentless determination and strategic maneuvers. Just like in many timeless tales, our hero triumphs over adversity and exacts his revenge, painting the town with shades of justice.
