Plot
In the poignant tale of "A Werewolf Boy," an elderly woman named Kim Sun-yi is coaxed back to the rustic country cottage of her youth when a proposition to buy her ancestral property arises. Accompanied by her granddaughter, Sun-yi's past unfurls in vivid memories, reigniting the extraordinary encounters of her youth.
During a time of turmoil following the Korean war, she crosses paths with Cheol-su, a mute orphan boy. Yet Cheol-su is no ordinary child, but a product of an illicit scientific experiment, his DNA interlaced with lupine genetics, rendering him more beast than boy. Sun-yi, instead of shunning him, courageously tames the wild lad, harnessing the principles of dog obedience training to refine his primal instincts.
In the process, Cheol-su becomes more than just a tamed creature. He evolves into a devoted protector, shielding Sun-yi from the unwanted advances of Ji-tae, a self-obsessed and spoiled son of her late father's business partner, who harbors intentions of claiming Sun-yi as his own. Yet, Cheol-su's fierce loyalty is not without consequences, as his protective instincts trigger a fearsome transformation into a formidable werewolf whenever a member of his adopted pack is threatened. This unexpected anomaly propels Ji-tae towards finding a permanent solution to the 'Cheol-su problem.'
As Sun-yi relives these poignant memories, the viewer is drawn into a captivating saga of an unusual companionship, a tale of love and loyalty, and a battle of self-preservation against the backdrop of a world struggling to understand and accept the extraordinary.
