In the tranquil town of Villaviciosa de al Lado, life ambles by at a leisurely pace, anchored by the enduring charm of a two-century-old spa. Yet, the town's serene existence teeters on the precipice of disaster as mounting debts from the City Hall threaten to shutter the spa, plunging the town into ruin. In this moment of crisis, a glimmer of hope sparks when Mayor Anselmo and his councilors discover they've struck gold in the Christmas Lottery. But their jubilation shatters as they realize their windfall traces back to a serial number disseminated by the town's notorious brothel.
As word spreads through a televised interview by Mari, the brothel's matriarch, suspicion stirs among the wives while dread grips the husbands, all under the belief that the town's men have won the lottery. With their town's fate and their marriages hanging in the balance, Anselmo, Ricardo, César, Juandi, and Paco conspire to pilfer the money from the brothel.
