Plot

In the early 1920s, amid the turmoil of the Irish War of Independence, the peaceful lives of two sisters, May and Tilly Collingwood, are irrevocably altered. Their tranquil existence in the pastoral beauty of Ireland is ruptured when they find themselves caring for a wounded British soldier, becoming unwilling participants in a time of national unrest. The sisters are trapped in a delicate balance of survival and compassion, living in constant fear of the British Black and Tans, the escalating tension of the burgeoning IRA, and their own perilous predicament. The walls of their Anglo-Irish household bear mute witness to a tragic love story unfurling within, a saga steeped in deep, dark secrets that threaten to consume them. As May is thrust into a maelstrom of critical and difficult decisions, they grapple with the consequences of their choices. Their tale is one of immense courage and unrequited love, framed against the tumultuous backdrop of a war-torn Ireland, where loyalty, fear, and love intertwine in a complex dance of fate and circumstance. "A Nightingale Falling" is a poignant historical period drama that captures the essence of an era, the struggles of its people, and the resilience of the human spirit when faced with adversity. It's a tale that promises to captivate, stirring emotions with its rich tapestry of love, sacrifice, and secrets waiting to be unraveled.
