Plot

"Mr. Nice" illuminates the incredible journey of Howard Marks, a coal miner's son from the heart of 1940s South Wales who ascends to the esteemed halls of Oxford University. Here, in the throbbing pulse of the freewheeling sixties, he studies nuclear physics, a field as complex and explosive as his future. Alongside his fellow students, Marks masterminds a global marijuana smuggling syndicate, which becomes the primary source of the Western world's high throughout the 1970s and 1980s. His audacious ventures pull him into a vortex of intrigue, tangling him with the CIA, PLO, IRA, and the Mafia. Strangely enough, Marks even dabbles in espionage, serving a stint as an MI6 agent. The charismatic Rhys Ivans, lauded for his performance, brings to life the complexities and contradictions of this modern-day folk hero in "Mr. Nice." This is a tale of a man who, born into humble beginnings, becomes an unlikely linchpin in the world's underbelly, all whilst maintaining an aura of charm and intrigue.
