Plot

In the once majestic but now slightly fading Imperial Hotel of Rome, Nina, an innocent chambermaid, begins her journey through the intricate tapestry of a world far removed from her own. Encouraged by her cousin Valentina, Nina steps into this world with the hope of a better life. Among the many souls she encounters, the most intriguing is the enigmatic Contessa Lucretia Sanziani. At seventy-two, the Contessa, once revered as Europe's "love goddess," lives ensnared in her grandiose past, estranged from her husband, Count Carlos Sanziani, for four decades. Yet, her existence within the hotel hangs in the balance as her fortunes dwindle and the Count expresses his indifference towards her fate. Amidst her fading glory, the Contessa finds a reflection of her younger self in the naive Nina. She takes it upon herself to mold Nina, fostering her transition into a refined version of herself that the world would admire. As the Contessa's grip on reality gradually loosens, she fervently hopes to witness Nina's metamorphosis into a figure of elegance and charm, echoing the Contessa's own past. 'A Matter of Time' elegantly interweaves the story of an old woman clinging to her memories and a young woman stepping into her future, both their lives deeply entwined within the grandeur of a bygone era, yet full of promises for what lies ahead.
