As Momon approaches his sixtieth year, he yearns to put these turbulent chapters behind him. He finds tranquility in his retirement from the insidious 'business', devoting his attention to his beloved wife Janou, whose past is marred by the shadows of his criminal life, and to his offspring and grandchildren who regard him with awe and respect. This man, whose life is an embodiment of simple yet universal values, exudes a kindness that belies his past. However, the serene stillness of his life is disrupted when Serge Suttel, unrepentant and unashamed of his history, re-enters the scene, threatening to unravel the peaceful existence Momon has painstakingly built.
