In the quaint town of Ponchatoula Junior High, Faith Mason, an impassioned art teacher, finds joy in providing her students an avenue for self-expression during the tumultuous period of adolescence. However, as Christmas approaches, her world is shaken when the school completely withdraws funding for the arts, threatening her beloved job. Alongside her loyal confidante, Wyatt, the school nurse, Faith must summon her creativity to protect her position. Parallel to Faith's struggle, her younger sister Maddie returns home for the holidays, her heart filled with joy and anticipation. Convinced that her boyfriend Ryan is about to propose, Maddie decides to make a Christmas wish for her sister: for Faith to experience the sweet taste of true love.
