9 Days (2013)

In the shadowy depths of a story reminiscent of Dante's Inferno, wrapped in the chilling style of horror classics like "Hostel" and "High Tension," emerges '9 Days'. This haunting narrative follows the perilous journey of Danielle, an 18-year-old firebrand desperate to escape her oppressive foster home. Her escape plan takes a sinister turn when she naively hitches a ride with the seemingly charming Virgil, a religious fanatic with a deep-seated grudge against women and a disturbingly twisted interpretation of moral cleansing. Danielle's knight in shining armor rapidly morphs into her captor, and she awakens to find herself half-naked, shackled to a post in Virgil's gloomy basement. Here, she is subjected to a relentless onslaught of sadistic torture sessions, a macabre dance between life and death designed to break her spirit and bend her to Virgil's deranged will. Yet, amidst the darkness, a glimmer of macabre humor punctuates the horror, giving '9 Days' a unique twist. For Danielle, love no longer means never having to say you're sorry, but surviving the torments of a madman.
