Hazuki shares her life with her adoptive sister, Hatsumi, and their bond, once innocent, has morphed into a consuming passion that leaves Hazuki wrestling with her own feelings. On the night of Hatsumi's sixteenth birthday, Hazuki surrenders to her longing and attempts to steal a kiss from her sleeping sister, setting off a cascade of events that sees Hatsumi vanish in a burst of blinding light. The world as Hazuki knows it crumbles, only to be replaced by the sudden appearance of a chatty parakeet who guides her to a magical library - a universe of boundless realities, each contained within its own book. This cosmic library is presided over by the charming Lilith, a blonde girl gifted with the ability to traverse these diverse book worlds. From the rugged landscapes of the Stone Age to the infinite expanse of outer space and numerous realms in between, Lilith becomes Hazuki's steadfast companion.
