In the harsh, unforgiving landscape of Australia, Lucky Flynn, a down-on-his-luck musician, embarks on a poignant journey to bid his dying mother a final farewell. His only companion on this desolate trek is an upright piano - a seemingly simple symbol of his mother's dying wish, and a tangible reminder of better times. But the journey, as vast and unpredictable as the Australian outback itself, is anything but simple. Just as Lucky is coming to grips with his solitary expedition, his world is upended by the unexpected arrival of Meg, a rebellious teenage runaway. Carrying her own complex family baggage, Meg is a whirlwind of chaos and unpredictability, proving to be a challenge more formidable than the piano itself. Together, they traverse the arid expanse of the desert, a mismatched pair bound by the common threads of family strife and personal demons. As they journey through the heart of Australia, the question lingers: will they, and the piano, survive the desert's searing test and make it out intact?
