Sandy Kominsky is an aging actor who is talented but never found great success. Now he runs an acting school with the help of his daughter Mindy while maintaining his decades-long friendship with his agent Norman. He tries to navigate the world as it rapidly changes around him, including a stab at romance, dealing with Norman's family and spending time with his ex-wife again, and finds that there is still a great deal to learn and experience.
