In the sprawling urban expanse of Los Angeles, Charlie Haverford is a master of illusion and deceit, running a chain of small-time fortune-telling shops while also crafting intricate cons for a powerful family that dominates the city's psychic scene. However, a chance encounter involving an outraged client's boyfriend and a fateful hypnosis session shatters his world of artifice, awakening him to profound and undeniable truths.
