Plot

In the ethereal realm of Shigofumi, the departed are given the chance to correspond with the living world. Anointed with the ability to deliver after-death-letters, supernatural mail carriers serve as intermediaries between the two worlds. Once human, these carriers possess an immutable existence, immune to age and death, except for the series' enigmatic protagonist, Fumika. Her role as a carrier is as extraordinary as her ability to age, a phenomenon her colleagues are exempt from. Fumika's staunch dedication to her duties makes her one of the most adept mail carriers. Unwavering and undeterred, she encounters all types of recipients, even the most difficult ones, with an unruffled demeanor. Her composed exterior, however, conceals a myriad of secrets waiting to be unravelled. The plot thickens when Fumika crosses paths with a high school student who recognizes her. This unexpected encounter reveals that Fumika's existence extends beyond human comprehension. The curtain lifts to reveal a complex and mysterious persona, slowly explored by Fumika and her closest allies. As the series unfolds, viewers are invited into a world where life and death intertwine, and the secrets of the past are unveiled through letters from the departed.
