SAKUGAN (2021)

In the far reaches of a time when the Western calendar has been long forsaken, humanity resides in an underground world known as the "Labyrinth." It's a world where people are packed like sardines, living beneath the surface in sweltering conditions. Yet, this subterranean realm is a treasure trove, rich with lodes of gold, silver, and untold wealth. Among the labyrinth's denizens are Memempu, a spirited nine-year-old girl, and her father Gagumber who reside in a colony named Pin-in. Together, they pilot a two-person work robot, scraping together an existence by mining ores in the most humble of occupations - "Workers." However, Memempu's insatiable curiosity and yearning to find her absent mother leads her to convince her father to take up the role of Markers - daring adventurers who map the labyrinth's dangerous innards. Despite the job's perilous nature, it holds the promise of unparalleled rewards. Unable to curb Memempu's relentless adventurous spirit, Gagumber finally relents. Father and daughter, aboard their work robot, thus embark on an extraordinary journey into the heart of the labyrinth, forging a path that intertwines survival, discovery, and the bonds of family.
