Plot

In the chaotic world of law and order, the enigmatic Cleaver Greene is a paradox wrapped in a riddle. On any given day, he is a kaleidoscope of contrasting personas, each as compelling and complicated as the next. His ex-wife may brand him 'unreliable', but his son proudly calls him 'a mate'. At the bar table, amidst the intellectual banter, he is hailed as 'a real wag', while his jurors find him 'hilarious'. Yet, for the judges, he is nothing short of 'an outrage'. To the ever-vigilant Tax Office, he is a formidable 'defendant'. In the shadowy quarters of a certain brothel, he is revered as 'a legend', and to his erstwhile cocaine dealer, he remains 'a tragic loss'. Cleaver Greene, the criminal lawyer, is a master in defending the indefensible. His cases are as diverse and surreal as his clients - bigamists, cannibals, and an array of characters that tread the thin line between the eccentric and the morally questionable. Greene is a valiant champion of the lost cause, wielding his wit and wisdom both in the courtroom's battlefield and the intimate battleground of the bedroom. 'Rake' is an exploration into the labyrinth of a complex man's life, where the rules of law and love often blur, and the unpredictable is the only certainty.
