Queen of Mystery (2017)

In the heart of South Korea, we find Yoo Seol-Ok, a woman bound by the societal expectations of marriage, who had traded her dreams of crime investigation for the role of a prosecutor's wife at a tender age. Her academic prowess in Criminology lies dormant, but not forgotten, as the monotonous rhythm of her housewife duties begins to chafe. Her seemingly ordinary life takes an unexpected turn when she succumbs to her suppressed passion, aiding a local police officer in unraveling petty neighborhood mysteries. As she navigates the labyrinth of an innocuous theft case in the local market, she finds herself unwittingly entangled in a much larger, more dangerous web: a high-stakes drug investigation led by the relentless detective, Ha Wan-Seung. Ha Wan-Seung, a man hardened by the rigors of his profession, views Seol-Ok's involvement with disdain, eager to leave her far behind in his pursuit of justice. But when his relentless investigation rattles the cages of the powerful and corrupt, he faces an unexpected career setback, landing him in the substation conveniently near Seol-Ok's residence. Thrust together by fate, this unlikely duo grudgingly joins forces to tackle the escalating violent crimes plaguing their area.
