In the labyrinthine world of international espionage, John Tavner is a strange anomaly. A misfit in the monotonous milieu of his industrial piping corporation, Tavner's unassuming facade hides a life steeped in far from ordinary circumstances. Beneath the cloak of an average businessman lies a proficient intelligence officer, tasked with the daunting mission of forestalling Iran's nuclear ambitions. Choosing the piping job as a nondescript gateway for his covert operations, Tavner finds himself frequently navigating the cobble-stoned alleys of Luxembourg. The job's dullness and seclusion offer the perfect camouflage for his clandestine activities. However, as the saying goes, even the best-laid plans often go awry. The seemingly mundane corporate world is not as oblivious to Tavner's secret life as he would like. A relentless European detective is hot on his trail, trying to unravel the mystery that is John Tavner. His nervously grim coworker, Mr. Icabod, starts suspecting that Tavner is not who he claims to be. Furthermore, Steven, a rotund colleague nursing a fresh brain injury, is on the brink of recollecting a horrifying act that Tavner might have executed. "Patriot" weaves the intricate narrative of John Tavner's life, an intelligence officer who must skirt the edge of danger, assuming a perilous non-official cover for the sake of national security. His complex existence is a high-wire act with no safety nets, and the stakes couldn't be any higher.
