Ninja Scroll: The Series (2003)

Over a decade since vanquishing the undying warrior Himuro Genma and foiling the sinister schemes of the Shogun of the Dark, the wandering swordsman, Kibagami Jubei, continues his restless journey across Japan. His path crosses with Shigure, a sheltered priestess unacquainted with the world beyond her peaceful village. Disaster strikes when a horde of demons lay waste to the tranquil village, killing its inhabitants and leaving Jubei targeted after he secures the Dragon Jewel, a mysterious stone of unknown roots. Simultaneously, Shigure, accompanied by the sagacious monk Dakuan and the resourceful young thief Tsubute, embarks on a journey to the village of Yagyu. With two demonic clans hot on their trail, eager to hunt Shigure down, Dakuan finds himself in a familiar predicament, needing to enlist the formidable skills of Jubei to shield the Priestess of Light. The stakes are high as they navigate the dangerous landscape, filled with threats at every turn, their destinies intertwined in a tale of survival, bravery and the relentless pursuit of truth.
