In the wake of a botched hostage rescue, Superintendent Sandra Pullman finds herself at the helm of the unsolved crimes division. Forced to navigate the murky waters of cold cases with limited resources and no back-up, she assembles a team of three retired police officers, each with their own baggage. Jack Halford is still grappling with his wife's loss, Brian Lane's obsessions are fed by a cocktail of medication, and Gerry Standing's legendary charm is a shadow of its former glory. Armed with years of experience, they plunge headfirst into a new era of policing, where their antiquated methods meet resistance. Not only are they tasked with hunting down elusive criminals, but they must also confront a modernized police force that often clashes with their traditional approach.
