In the whirlwind of pre-teen life, we meet Taylor Fry, an 11-year-old girl with an imagination as vast and vibrant as the cosmos. Mortified plunges us into two formative years of Taylor's life, where her eccentricity is as much a curse as it is a blessing. She's caught in a constant tug-of-war with her peculiar family, whose ownership of an underwear shop serves as the ultimate source of her daily mortification. In the labyrinth of her mind, Taylor dreams of escaping the mundane yet chaotic life she leads. She envisions dwelling among the stars with Nicole Kidman, seeking enlightenment as a Lama in the tranquil Himalayas, or even boldly volunteering to be the first child astronaut on an interstellar journey. These grandiose dreams serve as her refuge, her sanctuary from the relentless embarrassments that pepper her everyday existence. Yet, Taylor is not alone in her tumultuous journey. Accompanied by her steadfast ally, Hector, she manages to wade through the turbulent waters of adolescence. Through a cascade of laughter, tears, and unforgettable experiences, Taylor gradually learns not only to navigate the complexities of growing up but also to embrace her unique identity.
