In a tempestuous period of warfare set against the backdrop of Western Europe, a fearsome and prestigious female warrior, Eleanor "Ellen" Vertalia, emerges from the realm of Zhcted. She is a Vanadis, one of seven formidable women who each command a territory within Zhcted, gifted with mighty weapons by the ominous Black Dragon. The sheer power these Vanadis yield strikes terror into the hearts of their adversaries. Our tale weaves in a youthful archer, Tigre, an earl in service to the kingdom of Brune. His first encounter with the awe-inspiring power of the Vanadis comes in the form of a bitter defeat on the battlefield at the hands of the indomitable Ellen. The battle-hardened Vanadis, however, is moved by Tigre's undeniable skill and instead of ending his life, she makes a different choice. She spares him, but not without a price. In return for his life, she commands him to serve her, drawing him into a world of power, warfare, and the terrifying reality of the Vanadis.
