Living the Dream (2017)

Trading the relentless drizzle of Yorkshire for the sun-soaked landscapes of Florida, Mal, Jen, and their two children embark on an ambitious adventure to run a flourishing RV park. Envisioning a prosperous family business, they soon find themselves far removed from the dream they'd fashioned. The park, it turns out, is a vibrant tapestry of quirky inhabitants who are less than enthused to welcome their new proprietors. As they try to settle into their unfamiliar surroundings, Mal uncovers the eccentricities lurking beneath the surface of their new business venture. Meanwhile, Jen must grapple with the peculiarities of American suburbia, a world far removed from their British norms. Their children, thrust into the tumultuous setting of a US high school, must adapt and navigate this new terrain. The dream of their new life in America seems to be rapidly spiralling into an unexpected reality, making their past life in Britain seem like a distant memory. But it's not all gloom and doom. In the midst of culture clashes and unforeseen challenges, they find solace in each other and in the strange camaraderie of their new friends. Together, they begin to unravel the complexities of the American dream, learning that it may not be quite what they expected, but it can be just as beautiful.
