GoShogun (1981)

Four decades since the epoch of the GoShogun series, we find Remy Shimada, former pilot of the famed robot, ensnared in the jaws of a horrific accident while journeying to reconnect with her old comrades-in-arms. As her allies race against time to her bedside, Remy teeters on the precipice of life and death, her mind a tumult of past and present. In this liminal space, she's swept away by visions of her youthful days, intertwined with a surreal dream where she and her friends, rejuvenated, find themselves in an enigmatic metropolis brimming with militant adversaries. This is far from the joyful reunion Remy yearned for. Instead, a chilling epistle arrives, forecasting a macabre fate for each member of her team. Facing the grim reality of death in two days, both in her dream and in the waking world, Remy finds herself in a desperate race against time in the ominous City of Fate. She draws strength from the cherished memories of her friends, even as they vigilantly keep watch over her in the real world, their presence a beacon in the encroaching darkness. Remy, trapped in this labyrinth of dreams and reality, fights to escape her predestined end, banking on the bonds of friendship and the echoes of the past to guide her through this surreal ordeal.
