At the dawn of the twentieth century, amidst the remnants of the Russo-Japanese War, thrives Sugimoto "Immortal" Saichi, a veteran soldier who barely scrapes a living in the harsh, frigid wilderness of Hokkaido during its postwar gold rush. Fate takes a turn when he stumbles upon a cryptic map, a tantalizing pointer to a treasure trove of hidden Ainu gold. Seduced by the promise of wealth, he embarks on a perilous journey into the uncharted wilds to seek it. Yet, Sugimoto is not alone in this ruthless race. The scent of gold lures a host of dangerous entities, all willing to spill blood to claim the enormous fortune. The northern wilds are unforgiving, teeming with relentless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, each a formidable obstacle in Sugimoto's path. Survival becomes a game of skill, luck, and sheer tenacity. Sugimoto's only ally in this savage world is an Ainu girl named Asirpa. Together, they must navigate the treacherous terrain, outsmart their foes, and stay alive in their relentless pursuit of the golden bounty.
