Plot
Alphonse and Edward Elric have lost their mother and been abandoned by their father, so they turn to alchemy in a last desperate attempt to bring order back into their life. The failed ritual fails to bring their mother back, but it does leave the bothers horrible disfigured. Edward has joined the military in the hope that he can get the privileges he needs to learn out to heal his brother. But it's not long before both brothers are setting out on a quest to find the philosopher's stone that can heal them both of their alchemical afflictions.
