In the ash-strewn aftermath of 199X, the world has been scorched by a nuclear holocaust, reducing civilization's grandeur to mere remnants. Amid the struggle for survival, a new order is born where the strong subjugate the weak, and humanity's last remnants wage bitter battles over the scarce vestiges of food and water. In this dystopian landscape roams Kenshiro, the lone heir to an ancient, lethal martial art form - the Hokuto Shinken, or the Fist of the North Star. Marked by seven scars in the constellation of the Big Dipper on his chest, Kenshiro navigates the wastelands with a young thief and an orphan girl as his unlikely companions. His deadly artistry, a dance with the body's hidden 708 pressure points, allows him to dismantle foes from the inside, harnessing the raw, unbridled power of his human strength. As this wandering messiah, he delivers a much-needed semblance of justice to this anarchic world, his fist becoming a beacon of hope in the desolation.
