In her childhood years, Aoi Yukimura was an ardent mountain enthusiast, fuelled by a deep-seated passion for climbing. However, a traumatic incident in a playground instilled a paralyzing fear of heights in her, compelling her to swap the expansiveness of mountains for the safe confines of indoor hobbies. Now, as an introverted freshman in high school, Aoi finds herself cocooned in her solitary pursuits, her connection with the world dwindling to near nonexistence. A chance encounter with the effervescent Hinata Kuraue, a companion from her climbing past, sets the wheels of change in motion. With her infectious enthusiasm, Hinata coaxes Aoi to step back into the world of climbing, reigniting the embers of a forgotten passion. Initially hesitant, Aoi soon discovers that the shared moments with Hinata are a balm to her loneliness, inspiring her to confront her fears and rekindle her love for climbing. As she retraces her steps back to her erstwhile hobby, Aoi finds herself emerging from her self-imposed isolation. Unraveling the joy of companionship, she embraces new challenges and finds within herself the courage to climb once more. This journey reignites her spirit, showing that sometimes, the path to self-discovery can be found by scaling one peak at a time.
