Plot

In the bloom of their youth, Na Ae-Ra and Cha Jung-Woo, entwined by starry-eyed dreams and vows of love, enter the sacred realm of marriage. Ae-Ra aspires for nothing more than a tranquil existence, cherishing the roles of a doting wife and nurturing mother, while Jung-Woo is fueled by his business ambitions. However, their shared dreams crumble when Jung-Woo impulsively dives into his own venture, causing a whirlwind of debt that forces Ae-Ra into laboring long hours across multiple jobs. Their once harmonious relationship strains under the weight of financial woes and shattered promises – she accuses him of failing to provide for her, while he blames her for her lack of support and the bitterness that seeps into their bond. The tension culminates in a bitter divorce, leaving in its wake two embittered souls who hold each other responsible for their misfortunes. As the years roll on, Fate has a cruel twist in store – Jung-Woo's business skyrockets to staggering success, catapulting him into a life of opulence, while Ae-Ra still grapples with the remnants of their joint debt. They cross paths again amidst this tumultuous backdrop, stirring up a storm of unresolved resentment. Consumed by a burning desire to exact revenge for her years of hardship, Ae-Ra gears up for a battle of wits. On the other hand, Jung-Woo, convinced that Ae-Ra is a scheming gold-digger, is determined to unmask her true intentions. Cunning Single Lady paints a riveting tale of two former lovers caught in a whirlpool of past betrayals, unforgotten grudges, and unquenchable thirst for retribution, wrapped in a veil of riches, deceit, and the tantalizing prospect of rekindled love.
