Plot

In the tumultuous aftermath of the Great War, chronicled in the renowned Babylon 5 TV series, humanity is plunged into a perilous struggle for survival. The disgraced servants of the banished Shadows are hell-bent on exacting revenge for their former masters. Their weapon of choice? A potent biological terror, insidiously woven into Earth's atmosphere. Over the course of five years, this plague adapts to human genetics with chilling precision. Once fully acclimated, it promises to extinguish every human life, leaving Earth a desolate husk. The plague, birthed from a technology far surpassing humanity's grasp, leaves no room for conventional solutions. Instead, mankind must sift through the remnants of ancient alien civilizations, embarking on an archaeological quest of epic proportions. The objective? To uncover long-lost, advanced technology capable of eradicating the impending doom. This mission falls onto the shoulders of the Excalibur, a starship of the newly formed Interstellar Alliance, and its eclectic crew. The Rangers, the Alliance's elite troubleshooting corps, lead the charge, their resolve unwavering in the face of humanity's darkest hour. The cataclysmic events of the TV movie, Babylon 5: A Call to Arms, serve as a grim precursor to this tale. The Drakh fleet, though vanquished, left a poisonous legacy by introducing the plague into Earth's atmosphere. Now, death's shadow steadily creeps across the globe, claiming lives with ruthless indifference. Operating from Mars, Earthforce appoints Captain Matthew Gideon to spearhead a team of Earthforce scientists, archaeologists, a telepath, a thief, and a techno-mage. Their mission? To find the cure. With the Rangers at their side and the crew of space station Babylon 5 lending aid, they delve into the unknown, their every move a gamble in the high-stakes game of survival. This is Crusade (1999), a thrilling odyssey of courage, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of humanity.
