Plot

Set against the vibrant and tumultuous backdrop of 1930s Korea, under the iron grip of Japanese rule, Capital Scandal weaves a tale of love, resistance, and destiny. Our tale orbits around Na Yeo Kyeong, a brave bookstore owner who, under the veil of night, becomes a daring freedom fighter. The calm of her world is shattered when Seon Woo Wan, the carefree heir of a wealthy family, wagers his heart in a bet to win hers, unknowingly embarking on a journey into the labyrinth of the independence movement. In stark contrast to Seon Woo Wan's charmed existence, Lee Soo Hyeon, a worker's son whose education has been funded by Seon Woo Wan's father, grapples with his loyalty after being employed by the feared Security Branch of the Japanese government. Meanwhile, the enigmatic Cha Song Joo, a renowned gisaeng, navigates the treacherous waters of the high-class society, running a distinguished brothel. Capital Scandal is a riveting drama that intertwines the lives of these four characters, each caught in their own struggle, as they fight for love and liberty in a world on the brink of transformation.
