Bullet in the Face (2012)

In a grim future, crime and corruption bleed through the veins of Brüteville City, a dystopian metropolis ensnared in an unending gang war between nefarious mob bosses, Johann Tannhauser and Racken. Gunter Vogler and Martine Mahler, two cold-blooded assassins in Tannhauser's employ, find themselves in the heart of this chaos. Gunter, a bloodthirsty sociopath, relishes in the thrill of the kill, while Martine, entangled in a dangerous love triangle as Tannhauser's girlfriend and Gunter's secret lover, hides her true intentions. A botched robbery turns the tables when Gunter is shot in the face, presumably by Martine, and is subsequently apprehended by the police. Post-recovery, the calculating Police Commissioner Eva Braden manipulates Gunter into switching allegiances, revealing that his betrayal was likely orchestrated by Tannhauser. Gunter's revulsion only intensifies when he discovers his new face belonged to a slain police detective, a grim souvenir from his past life. Now navigating the world as his victim, Gunter is forced to team up with the soft-hearted Lt. Karl Hagerman, who is unknowingly paired with the murderer of his former partner. The plot thickens as both Hagerman and Braden find themselves entwined in personal affairs with Gunter's former self. Meanwhile, Martine drops a bombshell - she's expecting a child, claiming Gunter as the father. As the line between his past and present blurs, Gunter grapples with his newfound identity, caught in a relentless tug-of-war between his inherent sociopathic tendencies and a potential chance at redemption. Amidst the chaos, one question hammers in his mind: Can a killer truly shed his skin?
