Plot

In the heart of the darkly comedic series "Broke" (2014), we find Thomas (Martin Buch) and Dion (Esben DalggÄrd), two long-time companions battling against the unforgiving tide of life. Their shared dream to open a restaurant is colored by Dion's recent stint in prison and the haunting memory of a devastating car crash that claimed the life of Thomas's wife, leaving his son Niklas (Victor Lykke Clausen) a mute shell of his former self. The cruel hand of fate continues to play, dealing them a hand of relentless black-market creditors, an increasingly suspicious police force, and a social community poised to wrench young Niklas from his home. Amidst the looming shadows of their past, and the pressing demands of their present, can these two old friends rise to the occasion and navigate the labyrinth of life's tribulations? "Broke" (2014) is a unique meld of poignant drama and sharp-witted humor, a touching exploration of resilience and morality in the face of unyielding challenges. This series serves as a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the indomitable human spirit in the darkest of times.
