When Peter Clifford, an earnest Catholic priest from Manchester, is reassigned to Ballykissangel, a quaint Irish village, his life takes a whirlwind turn. His path crosses with the spirited Assumpta Fitzgerald, a publican with a quick wit and an aversion to the regimented church, who is a stark contrast to his calm demeanor. As Peter struggles with the challenges of his new pastoral role, he finds himself in a constant tug of war with his antagonistic superior, Father MacAnally. Ballykissangel is a melting pot of intriguing characters, each with their own quirks and conundrums.
