Plot

In the heart of her childhood, Mira Kinohata found an unexpected friendship with a boy named Ao during a fateful encounter at a local campsite. Under a canvas of sparkling stars, they shared dreams and promises, with Mira discovering a star bearing her name, but none for Ao. United by this celestial mystery, they pledged to one day explore the celestial sphere together and find an asteroid they could name after Ao. Years later, the memory of that promise guides Mira to Hoshizaki high school, her heart set on joining the astronomy club to realize their shared dream. However, her celestial aspirations take a turn when she discovers that her anticipated haven of the astronomy club is to be amalgamated with the geological research society, forming a united earth science club. With a sigh of reluctance but a spirit undeterred, Mira steps into the new club room, only to find herself reconnected with her old friend Ao Manaka. The shock comes not from the reunion, but from the revelation that the boy from her past is, in fact, a girl. Asteroid in Love weaves a narrative around Mira and Ao as they navigate through this unexpected twist, entrenched in the realm of earth sciences. The club becomes their platform, where they engage in various astronomical activities alongside a vibrant ensemble of fellow club members. The girls' journey, underlined by their enduring promise, rekindles their shared aspiration to one day, discover a new asteroid, fulfilling their childhood dreams and etching their names onto the celestial map forever.
