Plot

'Apocalipse' weaves an intricate tapestry of love, spirituality, and redemption, unfurling one of the Bible's most contentious narratives: The End of Times. The plot unfolds over three distinct eras, the '80s, '90s, and the present day, with apocalyptic prophecies rippling through the heart of the narrative, encompassing disparate corners of the globe: Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Jerusalem, and New York, the last of which bears the tragic echoes of September 11th. The story commences in the bustling metropolis of New York in the 1980s, focusing on the serendipitous convergence of four university students hailing from diverse roots: Alan, the American; Adriano, the Italian; Deborah, the Israeli; and Susana, the Brazilian. Alan and Susana's tender relationship blossoms into a captivating love story, contrasting with Adriano and Deborah's intense, passionate affair, which is shrouded in an ominous shadow, culminating in a troubled marriage and an unhappy existence. The narrative shifts to the '90s when Adriano and Deborah, along with their son Ricardo, return to New York, reconnecting with their old friends, Alan, Susana, and their son Benjamin. This reunion, however, is tainted by Deborah's simmering envy towards Susana. The final act catapults the story into the present day, with Benjamin, a man of unimpeachable character and a renowned scientist, leading a blissful life with Zoe, his soulmate. However, the stage is set for Ricardo, fuelled by ruthless ambition and the toxic envy inherited from his mother Deborah. He plans to seize credit for Benjamin's groundbreaking scientific discoveries, setting the stage for a malevolent scheme of global domination. Ricardo, harboring a secret love for Zoe, twists Benjamin's research to unveil his true identity: the antichrist, a diabolical agent prophesized in the Bible to wreak spiritual havoc on humanity. In the face of the looming "end," the characters grapple with faith, despair, agony, pain, and hope. 'Apocalipse' promises an emotional roller-coaster ride, building up to the climactic Last Judgment.
