Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot (2013)

In the heart of a sleepy Italian town, we find Paolo, a man caught in the mundane cycle of life. He fills his existence with hollow drinking bouts at the local tavern, a monotonous job, and a futile pursuit of his ex-wife. His life is turned upside down, however, when he stumbles upon his fifteen-year-old nephew, Zoran, a peculiar boy brought up in the wilderness by an aunt Paolo never knew he had. Following her untimely death, Paolo becomes the sole guardian of this enigmatic youngster. A chance encounter with the sagacious tavern owner reveals Zoran's uncanny and surprising talent: he is a darts prodigy. This discovery offers Paolo a glimmer of hope, a chance to exact revenge against a world that has dealt him a dispiriting hand. But, as he soon realizes, life doesn’t always follow the trajectory of a well-aimed dart. The game of life, much like darts, requires more than just an impressive aim; it demands resilience, a keen understanding of the odds, and the courage to take the shot when it counts the most.
