In the quaint coastal town of New London, the paths of disciplined Admiral Frank Beardsley and free-spirited Helen North are destined to cross once again. High school sweethearts, their lives diverged only to be intertwined years later when Frank, a widower with eight children, moves back to his hometown to run the Coast Guard Academy, his last stepping stone before an imminent prestigious promotion.
