YellowBrickRoad (2010)

In the dawning light of a 1940 New England morning, a chilling event unfolded. The tranquil town of Friar, New Hampshire was suddenly deserted as all its 572 inhabitants inexplicably ventured together up a serpentine mountain trail, leaving behind the trappings of civilization. Homes emptied of people, possessions abandoned, and even dogs forsaken, tethered to posts and left to the cruel fate of starvation. The reason behind this mass exodus remained shrouded in mystery. The U.S. Army, in their grim search, uncovered nearly 300 frozen or brutally slaughtered bodies from Friar's missing population, the rest remained ominously unaccounted for. In time, a covert cover-up operation spun the mystifying tale of Friar into a blend of local legends and eerie backwoods fairy tales. The town gradually repopulated, but the vast, wild terrain, largely uncharted with its northernmost regions off-limits, held its dark secrets close. Fast forward to 2008, when the coordinates of the infamous "YELLOWBRICKROAD" trailhead were finally declassified. This marked the beginning of the first official expedition into this twisted wilderness. A journey embarked upon with the dual purpose to unravel the enigma of Friar's lost citizens and to reach the trail's end. As the expeditionaries venture into the heart of this dark wilderness, will they finally solve the mystery that has haunted Friar for decades, or will they too succumb to the trail's sinister allure?
