As the sands of time dwindle away, Kelsey Graham finds herself teetering on the precipice of her self-imposed ten-year deadline to blossom into a celebrated writer. Kelsey, a copy editor at The Vine, the nation's largest online lifestyle magazine, is desperate to pitch her own stories before she's forced to surrender her dreams to a less fulfilling, as-yet-undecided career. Her efforts, however, are met with staunch disapproval from the pragmatic editor-in-chief, Max Chisholm, until a spontaneous remark about astrology piques his interest. Thus begins Kelsey's journey to explore the celestial world from a skeptical standpoint, profiling the enigmatic astrology guru, Carter Bowman, and his astrology/dating app, Star Stories. Along with her best friend and fellow copy editor, Molly, she ventures to the quaint town of Jupiter to attend its annual meteor shower festival—a gathering that Carter is known to frequent. To Kelsey's astonishment, Carter, a man she has encountered several times back in San Diego, turns out to be the same elusive astrologer she's assigned to interview. With sparks of attraction already kindling between them, Carter hesitantly agrees to the interview, bearing the scars of being betrayed by the media before. He sets forth some conditions, cautiously trusting Kelsey to handle his story with care. Caught in a constellation of dilemmas, Kelsey finds herself torn between maintaining the integrity of her article and succumbing to Max's pressure to write a sensational exposé debunking Carter's astrology-based business. As the celestial bodies align above, Kelsey and Carter find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative. As they navigate the meteor-festooned festival and the contours of their budding feelings, they discover that despite their conflicting perspectives, love might indeed be written in the stars. Kelsey, however, must make a choice: Will she risk her nascent writing career and potential job loss for the sake of a fair love story or will she bow down to Max's expectations and write a scathing critique?
