In the heart of Italy's underbelly, three lives intertwine in the most unusual of circumstances. Giacomo, an unsuspecting caregiver, finds himself at the mercy of his crude and relentless patient, Mario Spada. A man who revels in his vices - poker, vodka, and less-than-reputable women - Mario keeps Giacomo on his toes, sending him on bizarre errands from scoring drugs to scouting prostitutes. Parallelly, we meet Italo, an unassuming farm worker whose surreal occupation involves obtaining genetic samples from bulls - a euphemism for a rather intimate interaction. Then there's Alice, a dreamer caught in a stark reality. Aspiring to be a film and theatre make-up artist, she finds herself dabbling in the macabre - applying cosmetics to the deceased for a mortuary. To make ends meet, she steps into the shoes of a deceased mobster's wife, her uncanny resemblance making her an irresistible offer to Saro, the mafia family's son.
