Plot

As the ominous shadow of the Great War descends, brothers Billy and Jack Kelly, along with their cousin Paddy, pledge their allegiance and embark on a perilous journey to the battlefields of Europe. Billy, a renowned sharpshooter, is swiftly chosen to lead an elite sniper team, with journalist Keith Murdoch documenting their feats on the front line. As Murdoch's vivid accounts reach home, Billy and his team ascend to the status of celebrated war heroes. The war, however, is a relentless beast, and the catastrophic defeat at Gallipoli soon gives way to the bloodbath in France. Billy's remarkable sniper skills coupled with his bravery in hand-to-hand combat inspire awe among his comrades, earning him the prestigious Legion of Honour. Yet, back home, his parents are embroiled in a desperate struggle against lawless bushrangers threatening their existence. Fearing the worst for their sons, they begin opposing the government's conscription policy. In the heart of Europe, Billy's team is dispatched to disrupt the enemy lines before a monumental offensive on the formidable Hindenburg Line. Through sheer tenacity and courage, Billy and Jack emerge alive, but their cousin Paddy falls in the line of duty. Upon his return, Billy is greeted by the grim sight of his father's shallow grave and news of his sister's abduction by the bushrangers. In a riveting finale, Billy confronts his father's murderer, culminating a tale of courage, survival, and heartrending sacrifice.
