Plot

In the animated masterpiece, "Wild Life" (2011), we embark on a journey with a sophisticated young Englishman, dispatched to the untamed landscapes of Alberta, Canada in 1909. His aim? To try his hand at ranching. Though clad in the polished mantle of an English gentleman, his eccentric enthusiasm for badminton, bird-watching, and the occasional taste of strong liquor, leaves him amusingly ill-equipped for the rugged demands of cattle wrangling. As he navigates the breathtaking expanse of the prairie, it becomes startlingly apparent that his refined upbringing offers little protection against the harsh, raw conditions of this New World. His cheerful letters home, filled with sunshine and optimism, sharply contrast the stark realities of his daily struggles, drawing a parallel to the fate of a comet; brilliant and fiery, yet destined for a swift and magnificent demise. "Wild Life" paints a vivid picture of the stunning beauty of the prairie, the piercing sting of homesickness, and the absurdity of a man living precariously out of sync with his surroundings. This film is a delicate blend of humor, pathos, and the unvarnished truth of life's often unexpected challenges.
