Wild Country (2006)

In the gloomy precincts of Glasgow, young Kelly Ann, a teenage single mother grapples with the heart-wrenching reality of relinquishing her baby boy for adoption, a decision she's coerced into by Father Steve Gillis. Six weeks of anguish later, she finds herself amidst the rugged and beautiful expanse of the Scottish Highlands, part of a hiking expedition organized by Father Steve. Accompanied by her fellow youths David, Louise, and Mark, they navigate the terrain under the watchful eyes of Father Steve who promises to meet them the next day at a predetermined inn. The journey takes an unexpected turn when Lee, Kelly Ann's ex-boyfriend, joins the group uninvited, his presence a clear attempt to rekindle their dormant relationship. Their hike, initially brimming with the promise of adventure, spirals into the realm of the bizarre when they cross paths with a peculiar shepherd, an encounter that leaves them unnerved. Later, under the shroud of the moonlit night, Kelly Ann is drawn to the chilling cry of a baby. Together with Lee, she stumbles upon a dilapidated castle, its eerie silence broken by the wails of an abandoned baby, nestled amongst lifeless bodies. But the group's discovery of the infant is only the beginning of their ordeal. Rising from the dark underbelly of the Highlands, a ferocious, wolf-like beast emerges, stalking them with deadly intent. The group finds themselves in a desperate fight for survival, trapped between their primal instinct to flee and the growing realization that they must confront and defeat the creature or succumb to its insatiable hunger. Their journey, once a simple hike, morphs into a terrifying struggle against the savage wilderness and the dark secrets it harbors.
