Plot

In the heart of Columbia University, Assistant Professor of Chemistry Randy Alexander finds himself caught in a whirlwind of chaos when his wife Sarah stumbles upon him in a compromising situation with a transfer student. From Randy's viewpoint, he's the innocent party, caught off-guard by a grateful student's affectionate advance. Nevertheless, Sarah's heart is shattered, and she demands a divorce. Desperate to salvage his crumbling marriage, Randy turns to his debonair friend, TV writer Mike Haney. Mike, a self-professed libertine with a knack for storytelling, concocts an audacious plan: convince Sarah that Randy is an undercover FBI agent and the illicit kiss was merely a cloak-and-dagger necessity. With the help of Mike's prop artist friend, Randy undergoes a dramatic transformation, complete with a fake ID and a convincing gun. Against the odds, the ruse takes hold. Sarah, spellbound by the unexpected thrill of her husband's alleged secret life, becomes Randy's biggest cheerleader. However, her excitement threatens to spill the beans, and it isn't long before real FBI agents catch wind of the counterfeit ID. Sensing an opportunity amidst the chaos, they consider leveraging Randy's mistaken identity for their own gain. As the deception spirals, it's not just Sarah who's swept up in the ruse. The thrilling narrative of Randy's double life begins to attract unwanted attention from foreign spies. A simple misunderstanding has become a dangerous game of intrigue and espionage. Can Randy maintain the facade, or will his house of cards come tumbling down?
