In the icy grip of a Quebec winter, Bruce Landry (Thomas Haden Church), a former snowplow operator wrestling with personal demons, finds his life spiraling into chaos. Stripped of his business license for three years, Bruce is nonetheless drawn back to the helm of his snowplow one fateful snowstorm-charged evening. Under the influence and plagued by his own despair, he unwittingly becomes an agent of tragedy, striking and killing a man named Paul Blackburn during a reckless, drunken joyride.
