In a quaint northern town, the arrival of spring signifies not just blooming flowers, but also the blossoming of friendships and opportunities. Swimming lessons, new companions, and the thrill of fresh experiences typically frame this season. But for 14-year-old Sam, this year isn't as bright. As her peers start venturing into the world of boys and daring escapades, Sam finds herself in an uncomfortable cocoon, too shy to even undress in front of her classmates. Sam's world takes a turn when a misstep lands her a job as a janitor at a retirement home overseen by her mother. Removed from her usual surroundings, she finds herself forming an unexpected bond with two of the home's residents. As the seasons change outside, within the quiet walls of the retirement home, Sam embarks on a unique journey. Her elderly companions, with their wealth of experience and wisdom, help her navigate the tumultuous seas of adolescence and growing older. In this unlikely setting, Sam discovers that growing up isn't always about moving on, but understanding and embracing the changes within and around oneself.
