We Are What We Are (2010)

In the sun-soaked metropolis of Mexico, a peculiar family finds themselves in peril when their patriarch, a humble but secretive watchmaker, succumbs to an untimely death in the bustling heart of a local shopping mall. This family of cannibals, whose livelihood is intrinsically linked to their clandestine rituals, is left floundering without their provider. The responsibility of upholding the family's traditions and survival now falls on the young shoulders of Alfredo and Julián, the watchmaker's sons. These teenagers are thrust into a world of adult responsibility, tasked not only with the usual family chores but also with the grim duty of hunting for the all-important meat that graces their table. These newfound obligations become a harrowing journey into adulthood, especially when their everyday life is cloaked in cannibalistic rites. Their struggle is further confounded when they're evicted from the street market where they've been working their father's booth, the manager unsympathetic to their plight, demanding three-week overdue rent. Back at home, their sister Sabina grapples with the shocking news of their father's demise, while their mother Patricia, drowned in sorrow, isolates herself. As the siblings scramble to fill their father's shoes, their inexperience and clumsiness become their Achilles heel. Their desperate and fumbling attempts to maintain their family's clandestine existence soon catch the attention of two corrupt police detectives. In a city where danger lurks around every corner, these young cannibals must learn the art of survival quick or risk exposure of their family's dark secret.
