Caught in the contentious crossfire of her father's objections, Kit Bennett finds herself embroiled in a cunning battle of wits as she endeavors to win approval for her marriage to Fred Randolph. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she stumbles upon a newspaper advertisement for an attractive companion, an idea that holds the potential to shift the balance in her favor. Emerging from the confines of her room, Kit crosses paths with Pete Quinlan, a struggling radio singer desperate for a break.
