In the heart of a dwindling mountain hamlet, where residents are few and their secrets many, life treads a delicate balance. When a local hunter mysteriously plummets from his deer stand, the tight-knit community is shaken. Officers Georg Treichel and Martina Schober initially chalk it up to a tragic mishap. However, the discovery of a tampered rung on the ladder unveils a sinister plot, transforming the unfortunate incident into a potential murder investigation. The tension escalates when Hannes Guggenbauer, a farmer and fellow hunter, narrowly escapes a vehicular assault. A brutal twist follows as Treichel is gravely injured, lapsing into a coma that shrouds the village in an even darker shadow. With the arrival of Chief Inspector Acham from Klagenfurt to aid Schober, the atmosphere grows thick with suspicion and paranoia. The serene mountain sanctuary morphs into a hotbed of distrust as the plot twists and turns, painting everyone as a suspect.
